The Exhibition Dedicated to the 100-th Anniversary of the World War I Opened in Moscow Manege

"At the turn of ... Russia in the Great War. 1914-1918" – that’s the name of the opened exhibition.

It features rare leaflets and posters of that epoch as well as letters, diaries, maps, photographs, newsreels, weapons and uniform of "forgotten war" soldiers. The exhibits for the exposition were provided by 25 Russian museums.

"In the years of World War I there was no TV, radio performed purely technical function, there was no Internet, the leaders of army and military ministries did not put their comments on occurred events at facebook, yet war propaganda and information warfare was there. The main instrument of such a war leaflets and posters were” – said Minister of Culture of Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky at the opening ceremony.

In the section "Heroes of War. People's Archive" the photos of the World War I heroes are collected, from home archives of Russians.

Among the exhibits there are portable machine guns, Mosin rifles, mortars, cold weapons. The great part of the exposition is taken by aircrafts from the time of the World War I and the models of locomotives.

The exhibition is open until August 31, 2014.
